Kith & Kin Chapel Allerton Restaurant Review

Kith & Kin means Friends and Family, which is exactly what you get at this relaxed restaurant in the suburbs of Leeds. Picture it on a sunny Friday afternoon; young people chatting, mothers with their newborns, office workers drinking 2-4-1 cocktails and couples enjoying a chilled-out afternoon.

The restaurant has been up and running for seven months now and has settled in well and embraces just what Chapel Allerton is about; community, authenticity and being a little different. It is run by Arc Inspirations who also created Arc in Headingley, The Pit in Leeds and Banyon in Manchester, to name a few. The website http://arcinspirations.com/ shows a range of eateries, bars and hip hang outs.

Yesterday, myself and a couple of friends sampled the home-made, fresh and tasty menu. And we were very happy. A range of American, Mexican and Italian dishes are thrown into a modern menu of filling and satisfying dishes.

They also have a lunch menu for £6.95 which includes a drink. One friend went for the Deluxe cheese burger which was a homemade patty served on a fresh roll with crunchy lettuce and tomato. Skin on fries were a tasty accompaniment, perfectly cooked with a crisp outside and a soft centre.

Another friend had the Veggie Spirelli which was a fresh pasta dish with julienne carrots, broccoli and onion, and a sprinkling of cheese. Crunchy pine nuts finished this healthy, filling and fresh dish.

I had the Sweet Chilli Chicken Tostada which was a colourful mix of chicken, peppers, onion, rocket and sweet chilli sauce. I love sweet chilli. At first I was not sure about it on a tostada but it was delightful and different in all the right ways. Light and yet satisfyingly filling. There was a slight wait on the food but it was worth it.The restaurant and bar offers a chilled-out place to relax, eat, drink and enjoy.

Good food, nice surroundings and great staff make this place a great place for all occasions.
