Cosy Club is a new retro restaurant/bar brought to the people of Leeds. Situated at the bottom of Albion Street it is surrounded by shops, and in the newly developed area where Next once was.
The club is so much more than just a busy bar in the middle of the city, though, they have a contemporary menu of British classics, European dishes and even twists on Asian foods.
My friends and I tried this cool new place on Saturday night and we were not disappointed. There is a large selection of spirits, highlights for us were the selection of more unique gins, some of which we hadn’t heard of before. Cocktails are average priced and there is a range of soft drinks also.

Most of the group ate tapas and a selection of sides. There was a great range of food for the pescatarian and vegetarian in our group which is a rarity. I took advantage of the deal on tapas which was three dishes for £11.95.
Here is my squid (which came with lobster mayo), spinach and goats cheese croquettes, and pulled chicken and chorizo potatoes. All tapas comes with a few slices of fresh ciabatta.
For afters, myself and a friend really wanted a dessert but couldn’t manage a full portion so we shared a Sticky Toffee pudding. 
Truly a delicious pudding, our only complaint was that it tasted more like Parkin with a toffee sauce, than a traditional sticky toffee pud. Still, the homemade soft vanilla ice-cream was just the right amount and accompaniment.
The restaurant is a chain with some other sites being in York, Liverpool and Cardiff- but you would never guess this because the place seems like a chilled, independent, eclectic newbie with fresh ideas and modern twists. We will definitely be visiting again- maybe next time for the exciting sounding brunch menu.
